Following a more meditative approach, yin yoga uses passive stretching to release tensions held in deeper tissues; it is the perfect complement to the dynamic yang styles of yoga, like Vinyasa or Hatha.
The relaxed pace of yin yoga allows us to explore each asana and truly listen to our body to better understand our strengths and our limitations. Within this workshop we will learn how to find and release the tension held in our joints and connective tissues; tensions that are caused from both our regular yoga practices and daily life. At the same time, through guided meditation, we will work towards a better awareness of the connection between mind and body. This workshop is for anyone who wants to create more balance within their practice, wants to incorporate meditation into their practice, or is simply curious about yin yoga !

About Yolande
Originally from Canada, Yolande began practicing yoga about 5 years ago. What started as a form of exercise has more recently become a more fundamental part of her life. Having completed her 200 hour Teacher training at Drishti earlier this year, she will have gone on to complete additional Yin Yoga Teacher training in Rishikesh, India in early October. Yolande believes that yoga can teach us how to focus our energy and take a more mindful approach to life. On the most stressful of days, yoga helps us to find perspective and smile!
